Opportunities of neutrality and preventive diplomacy
On March 7, 2024, a lesson on the theme «Noteworthiness of neutrality and preventive diplomacy in promoting Peace and Trust policy» was held at the Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan. The lesson was conducted by Begench Karayev, a senior lecturer of the Department of International Relations and Diplomacy, a candidate of philosophical sciences.
During the training course, B.Karayev provided an in-depth analysis of the address delivered by the National Leader of the Turkmen people, the Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, regarding the prospects of Neutrality and preventive diplomacy at the third Antalya Diplomatic Forum which was held in the Republic of Turkey on March 1 of this year.
As the National Leader of the Turkmen people emphasized, neutrality provides non-alignment with blocks and non-use of military force. The more countries follow these principles, the more supporters there are of this approach, the less likely conflicts will arise. In this regard, the Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan stated that neutrality could become a positional platform for healthy and responsible forces, either individual countries or alliance of states. This allows for conflict situations to be resolved, demonstrating that emerging disagreements can be resolved through peaceful methods and negotiations, regardless of how complex or prolonged they may be.
At the end of the tutorial, students had the chance to address their questions.
