The 6th International Scientific Conference Astrakhan Peter’s Readings
On November 23-24, 2021, the 6th International Scientific Conference “Astrakhan Peter’s Readings – 2021: Peter the First and the Imperial Practices of the Frontier Space” was held. The Astrakhan State University and the Journal of Frontier Studies organized the event. Scientists from Russia and their colleagues from Italy and Bulgaria made speeches at the conference. They participated online and offline in various meetings, round tables and plenary sessions. Students of the Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan also took part in the conference online.
On the first day of the conference, students of the Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan listened to a lecture by Aliyev Rastyam Tuktarovich, Associate Professor of the Department of Russian History at Astrakhan State University. The lecturer dwelled on the topic “The life of a researcher: how to publish an article in scientific journals today”.
On the second day of the conference, the speakers made speeches on the following topics: Imperial judicial policy in the Central Asian outskirts in the second half of the 19th-early 20th centuries, Urbanization processes in the Steppe Territory and Turkestan (late 19th - early 20th centuries), Agrarian policy in the Steppe Territory and Turkestan as a tool of frontier modernization, The Russian-Ottoman borderlands in the Eastern Transcaucasia in the 1720-1730s, The influence of modernization transformations on the development of the education system of the Steppe Territory and Turkestan in the 1880s-1910s, and others.
It should be noted that participation in such events contributes to the strengthening of bilateral ties and a wide exchange of experience.
