The International Conference "International Transport and Transit Corridors: Interconnection and Development" (ITTC-2023) has been held in Ashgabat
On May 3-4, 2023, the International Conference "International Transport and Transit Corridors: Interconnection and Development" (ITTC-2023) has started in the conference hall of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Turkmenistan. The organizers of the event are the Transport and Communications Agency under the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan, the agencies "Turkmendemiryollary", "Turkmenavtoulaglary", "Turkmenhowayollary", "Turkmendenizyollary", "Turkmenaragatnashyk", and "Transport and Logistics Center of Turkmenistan" in partnership with the NGO "Turkmen Forum". International logistics and forwarding companies such as "Vitol", "Meno Logistics", "Boeing", "Dragon Oil", "Fly Dubai", "Airbus", "Cargo Lux", International Air Transport Association (IATA), International Shipping Agency (ICS), International Automobile Transport Association (IRU), as well as "Transport-Logistics Center of Turkmenistan" and more than 700 representatives of "Turkmen Logistics Association" presented various exhibit values describing the development of the transport system. The international conference, which has been held for two days, opened with the plenary session "International transport and logistics: challenges and opportunities". During the meeting, the leaders of the transport sector of Turkmenistan, as well as the heads of delegations of foreign states, international and non-governmental organizations in the field of transport were present their vision of new challenges and opportunities in modern realities, trends and prospects for the development of global trade, in the context of a rapidly changing economic situation. There were also be an exchange of views on the role of transport and logistics infrastructure in facilitating and increasing international trade, the importance of interstate cooperation in the development and activation of international transport and transit corridors. As is known, Turkmenistan actively participates in the development and strengthening of international cooperation on sustainable and safe transport, takes initiatives for a broad multilateral consideration of the issues of ensuring stable and reliable international transport, as well as the adoption of important documents within the framework of international organizations, primarily the UN. At the initiative of Turkmenistan, in 2014, 2015 and 2017, the Resolutions of the UN General Assembly on international cooperation in the field of transport were adopted. In 2016, the first UN conference on sustainable transport was held in Ashgabat.
