Round-table meeting
On May 21, 2021, a round-table meeting was held, dedicated to the relationship with the brotherly cities of Ashgabat at the Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan. The round-table meeting was chaired by Jumamyrat Gurbangeldiyev, a Rector of the Institute. Chary Niyazov, an Associate Professor of the Department of International Relations and Diplomacy, an Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Turkmenistan, Chynar Rustemova, an Executive Secretary of the National Commission for UNESCO, an Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Turkmenistan, Nurberdi Amanmuradov, a counsellor of the Department of European countries of Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, an Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Turkmenistan as well as Saragt Babayev, a teacher of the Department of Sculpture of the State Academy of Arts of Turkmenistan, the People's Artist of Turkmenistan and the students of our institute participated in this meeting through online.
During his speech Chary Niyazov emphasized that the brotherhood of Ashgabat with several cities plays an important role in the development of our country's foreign policy with the countries of the world. In her speech Chynar Rustemova noted that along with the cities of several countries around the world as the cities of Lanzhou and Beijing in the People's Republic of China are brother cities and that cooperation has been established between them in various fields. On the other hand, Nurberdi Amanmyradov told interesting stories about the brotherhood cities of Ashgabat as Ankara and Kiev. The story of Saragt Babayev was even more impressive about the statues which were placed in several parks of the beautiful corners of Ashgabat.
During the meeting, the interview with Saragt Babayev who was working on the new statue of Magtymguly Pyragy taken by Seyli Arishov and Aygul Matiyeva, the students of the Faculty of International Journalism and a video about of the brotherhood cities of Ashgabat were shown.
