ROUNDTABLE DISCUSSION DEDICATED TO CELESTIAL AKHAL-TEKE HORSES
On September 8, 2026, a roundtable discussion was held at the Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan. The event was dedicated to the historical significance of the international initiatives and exemplary endeavors of the National Leader of the Turkmen People, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, and Honorable President Serdar Berdimuhamedov, aimed at glorifying our national pride — heavenly Akhal-Teke horses — and the art of horse breeding worldwide.
The roundtable discussion brought together faculty members and students from higher educational institutions under the Ministry of Education of Turkmenistan, scientists from the Academy of Sciences of Turkmenistan, specialists from the "Turkmen Atlary" State Association, and media representatives.
Speakers at the event discussed in detail the peerless efforts, international initiatives, and exemplary work undertaken by Hero Arkadag and Arkadagly Hero Serdar to further elevate the global prestige of the Turkmen horse and advance the equestrian industry.
Special emphasis was placed on the key role of the Turkmen horse in the nation's history, national culture, fine and applied arts, literature, and manuscript heritage. Participants also highlighted vital issues concerning the preservation of the breed purity of Akhal-Teke horses and the scientific development of horse-breeding traditions.
Furthermore, speakers underscored the importance of developing equestrian sports, equestrian tourism, and national horseback games, as well as integrating modern scientific methods and digital technologies into the sector. The necessity of effectively promoting national values in foreign languages, media outlets, and digital platforms was also strongly emphasized.
The discussion held during the year “Independent Neutral Turkmenistan − the homeland of purposeful heavenly horses” highlighted collaborative efforts across science, education, art, horse breeding, and journalism are essential for transmitting the Turkmen horse-breeding heritage to future generations and introducing it broadly to the international community.
At the conclusion of the event, participants expressed their profound heartfelt gratitude to the National Leader of the Turkmen People, Hero Arkadag, and Honorable President Arkadagly Hero Serdar for their tireless efforts in advancing the national art of horse breeding and spreading the glory of celestial Akhal-Teke horses around the world.
