Competition dedicated to the 75th anniversary of the adoption of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights
On October 24, 2023, a competition was held at the the UN Resident Coordinator Office in Ashgabat, with the support of UNDP in Turkmenistan and the Institute of State, Law and Democracy of Turkmenistan, dedicated to the 75th anniversary of the adoption of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and the 30th anniversary of the adoption of the Vienna Declaration of Human Rights and Plan of Action.
Representatives from five higher educational establishments of our country took part in the competition: students from the Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, students from the International University for the Humanities and Development of Turkmenistan, students from the Turkmen State University named after Magtymguly, students from the Turkmen National Institute of World Languages named after Dovletmammed Azadi, as well as students from the Institute of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Turkmenistan . During the competition, students made presentations on various human rights topics from a simulated podium of the UN General Assembly.
The jury members evaluated the teams in several criteria, according to the results of which the team of the Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan was recognized as the best and was awarded 1st place.
At the end of the competition, all participants were awarded with memorable prizes on behalf of UNDP in Turkmenistan.
