International Day of Culture
Culture and art are present in our life in all directions. Culture gives mankind spiritual beauty. In Sanskrit, the word "culture" means "reverence for the light", which implies beauty and the desire for self-improvement.
It is necessary to study and protect culture at all times. That is why a special holiday was created - the International Day of Culture. It is celebrated annually on April 15 in all countries of the world. This holiday was first celebrated on April 15, 1935 on the occasion of the adoption of the International Treaty "Treaty for the Protection of Artistic and Scientific Institutions and Historical Monuments" or the "Roerich Pact", which is an important initiative in the promotion of culture and art.
As you know, the famous Russian artist and philosopher Nicholas Roerich is the author of the idea of protecting artistic monuments from destruction by time and human influence. This agreement contains a set of articles on the protection of cultural values. These articles must be observed in any political situation, regardless of the ongoing state of war.
On the International Day of Culture, various events are held around the world - exhibitions, creative meetings, art conferences, historical lectures, concerts and theatrical performances. This international festival literally unites hearts and conveys emotions.
