United Nations' Universal Children's Day
It shoul be proudly noted that today the United Nations' Universal Children's Day, is celebrated on November 20 each year to promote international togetherness and awareness among children of worldwide. November 20th is an important date as it is the date in 1959 when the UN General Assembly adopted the Declaration of the Rights of the Child. It is also the date in 1989 when the UN General Assembly adopted the Convention on the Rights of the Child. UNICEF, the United Nations Children's Fund, coordinates this special day, which also works towards improving children's welfare.
As it is known that under a motto "For every child, every right" World Children's Day offers each of us an inspirational entry-point to advocate, promote and celebrate children's rights, translating into dialogues and actions that will build a better world for children.
International days and weeks are occasions to educate the public on issues of concern, to mobilize political will and resources to address global problems, and to celebrate and reinforce achievements of humanity. Following that, sustainable future for our planet starts with the children of today. Each person can play an important part in making World Children's Day relevant for their societies, communities and nations.
Childhood is a universal experience that every one of us in the world has experienced. For many, childhood is a time we miss. It is a time of curiosity, imagination, exploration and incredible growth.
The fact that each of us had a fortunate childhood that shaped us into the motivated adults we are today – here, improving our life skills and experinces. But what helped us ? Who inspired us along the way? For many of us, a special adult helped us to learn and grow as children and led us to love learning. For some, it was a great teacher or a wise man. Others had parents, grandparents or other relatives who encouraged them to be curious and study hard and they also inspired us and were role models. As we all know that children are bright of the country. In this regard, children should be treated and appreciated well with lots of love and affection.
Every parent has the opportunity to improve the quality of care and education their children receive as well as ultimately improve their children's outlook.
