V Central Asian Expert Forum has been held
On December 10, 2022, the Fifth Central Asian Forum entitled “Important aspects of regional cooperation on Climate change, Water use, Food Security and Information and Communication Technologies in the Central Asian region” has been held at the Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan.
At the plenary session, Rector of the Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, candidate of historical sciences Jumamyrat Gurbangeldiyev, Special Representative Secretary General and the Head of the UN Regional Center for Preventive Diplomacy for Central Asia Natalia Gherman and Vice-rector on Academic affairs of the Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Gulshat Yusupova delivered speeches.
Within the framework of the Forum, three thematic sessions entitled “Cooperation in combating Climate Change in Central Asia taking into consideration UNFCCC decisions and Water cooperation in the Aral Sea basin’’, “Issues of ensuring food security in the Central Asian region” and “Problems of ensuring security in the field of information and communication technologies” have been held.
The Forum brought together not only Representatives of Scientific and Analytical Centers, but also Heads of International organizations, Heads of higher educational and scientific institutions, as well as teachers and specialists in this field.
This historic forum was of great importance in expanding and further developing active cooperation among Central Asian states to combat Climate change, use Water resources and ensure the security of Information and Communication systems.
