The working visit of Hero-Arkadag to the Republic of Türkiye
Our country strives to establish productive relations with other states, based on the principles of positive neutrality, peacefulness and good neighborliness. We are actively developing cooperation both on a bilateral and multilateral basis in order to discuss and find balanced approaches to solving pressing issues both at the regional and global levels. One of the striking examples of this is the visit of the National Leader, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, to Antalya, Türkiye, which included a meeting with the President of the Republic of Türkiye Recep Tayyip Erdoğan. During high-level meeting, for outstanding contributions to strengthening friendship between Turkmenistan and Türkiye, as well as for personal efforts in advancing long-term interstate cooperation, the President of Turkmenistan has conferred upon the Turkish leader the title of “Hormatly il ýaşulusy.” The National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty, congratulated President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan on this high honor and wished him good health, longevity, and great success in his responsible role at the highest state level.
Following the meeting, a ceremony was held to sign bilateral documents. The following agreements were signed:
– Declaration of intent on cooperation in the field of hydrocarbon resources between Turkmenistan and the Republic of Türkiye;
– Memorandum of mutual cooperation on the development of partnership in the field of natural gas between the State Concern «Türkmengaz» and the Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources of the Republic of Türkiye;
– Memorandum of Understanding between the Open Joint Stock Company «Turkmenistan Airlines» and the University of the Turkish Aeronautics Association.
The National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov met with the Chairman of the Board of Governors of the Çalık Holding group of companies, Ahmet Çalık, within the framework of the Antalya Diplomatic Forum.
This company covers various areas, including energy, textiles, construction and other industries. The company built infrastructure complexes equipped with the latest technologies in healthcare, manufacturing and energy sectors, which are of great importance for Turkmenistan.
Also, the National Leader of the Turkmen people met with Erman Ilicak, Chairman of the Board of Rönesans Holding, which has been successfully operating in the Turkmen market for a long period, actively participating in the implementation of significant projects in the areas of urban planning, oil and gas and chemical industries and has made a great contribution to the socio-economic development of our country.
The Antalya Diplomatic Forum is an initiative aimed at creating a broad dialogue platform for exchanging views on current global and regional issues, finding answers to modern challenges, and developing new effective ways of cooperation.
The National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov at the third Antalya Diplomatic Forum mentioned that the current situation in the system of international relations poses a number of serious issues affecting politics, economics and law, ethical and judicial relations and relations of honor and dignity.
In this regard, Turkmenistan’s position is firm and clear: such a matter must be resolved through global efforts, based on the norms of international law and the Charter of the United Nations. In September 2023, at the plenary meeting of the 78th session of the United Nations General Assembly, Turkmenistan made a proposal to develop a Global Security Strategy under the auspices of the Community of Nations, which considered as a system of positions and norms on the structure of interstate and international relations in the 21st century and the mechanism for building it. Also our Hero Arkadag paid regard to that Turkmenistan considers it expedient to strengthen work through regional organizations and interstate associations, not only in the political aspect, but also in the economic and humanitarian fields; and that it is also necessary to listen to the opinions of specialized structures and institutions on this issue and involve them in resolving major issues of global politics; to assist the United Nations in fulfilling the main mission laid down by its founders - ensuring the global peace, equal cooperation and development.
The National Leader of Turkmen people gave utterance to that he reckons it necessary to intensify the interaction of other international structures and associations with the United Nations, as well as to enhance the role and functions of regional representative offices and UN agencies in addressing subjects of maintaining peace on the planet and world order.
Hero Arkadag called for the member states not just to limit themselves to support, but to achieve legalization of the provisions of the Resolutions and to advance in the practical implementation of the innovative ideas and areas of cooperation specified in them. After words, National Leader invited international financial and economic institutions, such as the World Trade Organization, the World Bank, the International Monetary Fund, the Islamic Development Bank, the Asian Development Bank, the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, regional structures, to provide sufficient support to international transport projects and participate in strategic decision-making.
In conclusion, The National Leader of turkmen people, The Chairman of Halk Maslahaty Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov expressed Turkmenistan’s readiness to direct the neutrality as well as accumulated experience of a peacemaker towards making Turkmenistan’s contribution for the sake of the interests of peace and the harmonious development of humanity.
Turkmenistan, maintaining its independence and neutrality, actively engages in addressing significant global and regional issues.
