Culture of Peace – Novruz Bayram
On March 20, 2025, the Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan hosted a festive event, Culture of Peace – Novruz Bayram, organized by the UNESCO club “Culture of Peace" in honor of International Novruz Day, which is included in UNESCO's List of Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity.
The first speaker, Gulshat Yusupova, Rector of the Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, emphasized the profound meaning of the National Spring Holiday – International Novruz Day. She highlighted its centuries-old history and its symbolism of the eternal renewal of life and kindness. The great significance of this holiday, which fosters peace, good neighborliness, friendship, and mutual understanding among people, was also underscored in the speech of Chynar Rustemova, Responsible Secretary of the National Commission of Turkmenistan for UNESCO Affairs and Hero of Turkmenistan.
Following the speeches, an award ceremony was held for the winners of the essay contest “International Peace and Trust – The Foundation of Sustainable Development”, organized by the UNESCO club Culture of Peace, as well as the art competition Culture of Peace – Novruz Bayram, dedicated to World Poetry Day and International Novruz Day. Members of the UNESCO departments and clubs from higher educational institutions across the country, along with students passionate about creative work, participated in the competitions. The jury carefully reviewed the submitted essays, selecting the best ones based on their political content, writing mastery, relevance, artistic value, and educational significance. The winners were awarded Certificates and souvenirs.
The award ceremony was uniquely complemented by performances from the Institute's student Performance Group and students of the Special Music Boarding School under the Maya Kuliyeva Turkmen National Conservatory.
This event once again demonstrated dedication to our independent Homeland, the elevated creative spirit of the era, and the continuous preservation and transmission of the best traditions of national culture from generation to generation. The participants of the celebration expressed their pride in the prosperous era of our people and Homeland, as well as confidence in the bright future of the country, which continues to move forward under the leadership of Hero Arkadag and Arkadagly Hero Serdar.
