Neutrality of Turkmenistan and the 300th anniversary of Magtymguly Pyragy
Our united people live in the days when the wise Magtymguly Pyragy's lofty dreams, expressed in his wise, patriotic poems, come true. The soul of Magtymguly Pyragy and his ingrained reverie of the unity of Turkmen people has been consummated.
From the inception to these latter days, the policy of our country was marked by a fruitful success in all domestic spheres of our Motherland, fulfilled by Hero Arkadag and Arkadagly Serdar, which was the adoption of the concept of the foreign policy course of Turkmenistan for 2022-2028. Another prosperous project of 2022 is the Program for the Revival of a New Era of a Powerful State was Approved: The National Program for the Socio-Economic Development of Turkmenistan in 2022-2052
Among all the important resolutions made, it is incumbent upon us to mention the first initiative steps in this path, which was the unanimous resolution of UN in support of Turkmenistan’s neutrality and its confirmation in 2015. These celebrated dates occupy a paramount place in modern history.
The cornerstone of our country’s neutral policy is respect for the sovereignty of other countries, non-interference in their internal affairs, refusal to use force in interstate relations, strengthening the neighborhood. The Turkmenistan’s neutral status is not a self-exclusion from solving international problems. Indeed, it is a considerable position to actively influence the situations on the planet as a whole. Given that it is an integral element of neutrality, the preventive diplomacy based UN Regional Center for Central Asia has been successfully functioning for 15 years on Turkmenistan’s own initiative. What should be shed light upon is historic undertakings germane to the foreign policy, conducted in 2023, most crucial of which are the continuation of Turkmen Government delegation’s visits abroad and the second stage of the construction of the “Arkadag city”, unparalleled administrative center of Akhal region accompanied by 28th anniversary of Neutrality.
This is additionally augmented by 300th anniversary of Magtymguly Pyragy, a poet who has made a significant contribution to the eventual formation of the Turkmens and left an indispensable legacy to our nation. As is astutely conveyed in his poem,
When souls, hearts and minds of tribes are united,
Their troops when gathered will melt stones and ground on their way,
When Turkmen gather around one table to share a meal,
The destiny of Turkmen will rise high.
Magtymguly’s unmatched literary heritage bestowed the Turkmen soul with the greatest credo; the Turkmen mind with the most precise grindstone to discern good and evil; and the eyes of Turkmen with inextinguishable “joie de vivre”.
As you know, it is planned to celebrate the 300th anniversary of Magtymguly's birthday in 2024, the great intellectual poet and philosopher of the East, a prominent representative of turkmen classical literature. On this date, the Pyragy’s bronze statue built at a natural height that will be a great monument between heaven and earth, will be 60 meters of height, the height of the foundation will be 25 meters. Also, here 41 hectares of land were allotted for the construction of a cultural park. Currently when you get to know the works going on in this corner, you realize that this statue will be as beautiful as the poet himself in his exemplary poetry. Recognized as the "Pearl of Central Asia", one of the most beautiful and livable cities in the world - our capital’s list of many beautiful places will be included the cultural and park complex of the wise poet of the East Magtymguly Pyragy. This complex will be the beginning of a huge and wide-ranging celebration of the 300th anniversary of the great poet and philosopher of the East in 2024.
On behalf of all Turkmen people, we can proudly announce that all of the above-mentioned are an indelible heritage of ours, as time has proven true Magtymguly’s brilliantly clear-sighted ideas and lofty sentiments of the present-day Independent and, markedly, Neutral Turkmenistan, the status of which should be attributed to the Hero Arkadag and Arkadagly Serdar. In the country where the holidays become to holidays we wish our esteemed President and our Hero Arkadag sound health, long life, and great achievements in all their endeavors.
