A meeting dedicated to our national heritage
On May 12, 2023, at the White yurt (ak öý) of the Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, was recorded a solemn meeting entitled "Our cultural heritage is in the Representative List of the Intangible Heritage of UNESCO". It was attended by female lecturers, female students of the Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan and several guests. At the event, the deputy director of the State Museum of the State Culture Center of Turkmenistan Bahartach Rustemova, resident of Ashgabat and active member of the Central Council of the Women's Union of Turkmenistan Orazjemal Geldiyeva noted Turkmen embroidery recognized as cultural heritage of humanity in the Representative List of the Intangible Heritage of UNESCO and the art of carving is an integral part of our national cultural heritage. The topic of inclusion of the Turkmen embroidery in the UNESCO List of the Intangible Heritage of Humanity, it should be pointed out that without doubt it is an inseparable part of the treasure of national cultural values. Following age-old traditions, today our masters create wonderful original designs and ornaments serving elements of clothing, household items, and decorative articles. By the way, Türkmen women, who are keepers and successors of creative traditions of our glorious ancestors, were famous for their fine needlework. Having reached a high perfection in this form of art, they were always ready to share their rich experience with others. During the event, the guests spoke in detail about the exemplary works of our Arkadag, Arkadagly Serdar in preserving and developing our cultural heritage, nationality, art and traditions.
