The growth of the diaspora in Central Asia is an important factor in sustainable development
On May 10, 2022 at the Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan was held an online international scientific-practical conference titled “The growth of the diaspora in Central Asia is an important factor in sustainable growth”. The conference was jointly organized by National University of Uzbekistan named after Mirzo Ulugbek and The Central Asian International Institute.
The conference was attended by representatives of Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, The Russian Federation, Germany, Poland and the German K.Adenauer Foundation in Uzbekistan.
During the meeting, the rector of the Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan J.Gurbangeldiyev and a researcher of The Research Center for Strategic Studies D.Mammedov gave speech.
The rector of the Institute J.Gurbangeldiyev noted in his speech that with the aim of providing sustainable development, peace and security in the region, since the first years of independence of Turkmenistan, the Humanitarian Association of the World Turkmens was established to create ties with the Turkmen diaspora. He also underscored that relations were set with ethnic groups and diasporas of Turkmens living in the Commonwealth of Independent States, primarily in Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan and Russia.
The diaspora makes a significant contribution to the establishment of humanitarian, cultural and entrepreneurial relations between the states. In this regard, along with the national diaspora in our country, the Uzbek diaspora maintains close relations with the Turkmen people.
