XIV INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE On International Humanitarian Law “Martens Readings-2021”
On May 27, 2021 the International Conference on Humanitarian Law “Martens Readings-2021” was held in St. Petersburg, the Russian Federation. It was organized by the International Committee of the Red Cross, the Russian Association for International Law, and the St. Petersburg State University. The international conference was attended by the teaching staff and students of the Faculty of International Law of the Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan.
The conference included a panel session and two sections. At the panel session international lawyers made speeches on “Modern Perspectives on the Proviso of Martens,” “Impact of the Results of the Nurnberg International Military Tribunal on International Humanitarian Law” and “International Human Rights and the Pandemic.” In the first section, representatives of international organizations spoke about “Academic Institutions and International Humanitarian Law Teaching during the Pandemic Period” and the topic of the second section was “Humanitarian Work in the Pandemic Period.”
The active participation of teachers and students in international law conferences will greatly contribute to the further development and improvement of their knowledge of international law.
