23RD INTERNATIONAL CHILDREN’S FORUM ON CLIMATE CHANGE AND CHILDREN'S ATTITUDES
The 23rd International Children’s Conference on Climate Change and Children’s Attitudes was organized by the Ministry of Family and Life of the Republic of Turkey and the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) in Ankara, Turkey, from November 20 to 22, 2022. This international forum was attended by the Head of the Department of International Law and Comparative Jurisprudence of the Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Ayjan Omarova and a student of the Institute’s Faculty of International Economic Relations Yupar Egirjayeva, as well as young people from the Republics of Azerbaijan, Albania, Bulgaria, North Macedonia, Georgia, Kyrgyzstan, Italy, Moldova, Tajikistan and the state of Ukraine.
On November 21, 2022, a discussion was held among the forum participants under the leadership of Regina De DOMINICIS, Representative of the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) in Turkey, on the topic of “Climate Change and Children’s Attitudes”. The forum discussed the topics of “Climate change in the region”, “Attitudes of young people towards the environment”, “Climate change and youth rights” and “Climate change and refugees”. Additionally, the participants of the forum exchanged questions and answers on the set topics.
At the end of the forum, the Ministry of Family and Life of the Republic of Turkey and the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) presented gifts to the young people who actively participated in the international forum, and took a commemorative photo together with the organizers and participants of the international forum.
