International Human Solidarity Day
Many internationally celebrated days around the world serve primarily to raise awareness of issues related to peace and cooperation, to address global challenges, and to strengthen achievements of humanity. The fact that such international days are proclaimed by the United Nations further emphasizes their significance. One of these important commemorative dates is International Human Solidarity Day, which has been observed annually on December 20 worldwide since 2006. This international day was established on the basis of the United Nations General Assembly Resolution of March 17, 2006 . This date calls on the countries and people around the world to support one another and to strengthen peace.
International Human Solidarity Day highlights the unity of humanity regardless of nationality, religion, language, or cultural differences, and affirms universal human values. Solidarity is a symbol of trust, humanism, and shared goals. It is precisely by reinforcing these values that humanity can confidently move toward a bright future.
Permanent Neutrality policy of Turkmenistan is a vivid example of international solidarity. In the foreign policy of our country, the principles of peace, friendship, and mutual trust hold an important place. Turkmenistan actively cooperates with international organizations to strengthen solidarity, support humanitarian initiatives, ensure regional stability, and participate in sustainable global development.
International Human Solidarity Day encourages respect for one another, recognition of different views and opinions, and the strengthening of humanistic values. It fosters a sense of mutual responsibility in people. It also plays a major role in eradicating poverty. This day emphasizes that peace, friendship, and progress in the world can be achieved only through unity and joint action.
