The importance of Peace and Trust in achieving Sustainable Development Goals has been highlighted
On June 24, 2021, Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan hosted an online roundtable entitled “International Peace and Trust in achieving Sustainable Development Goals”. The meeting was attended by the Rector of the Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Jumamyrat Gurbangeldiyev, Senior Vice President of the Okayama University, UNESCO Chairholder in Research and Education for Sustainable Development Atsufumi Yokoi, Executive Advisor to the President of Okayama University, Former Ambassador, Deputy Permanent Representative of Japan to the United Nations, Professor Toshiya Hoshino, lecturer of the Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Gapbar Hallyyev, Vice Executive Director of the Okayama University, Professor Mitsunobu Kano, III year student of the Faculty of International Economic Relations of the Institute Diyar Lomanov, as well as student of the Okayama University Terashima Miyu.
The participants of the roundtable in their speeches highlighted that Turkmenistan closely cooperates with the world's largest and most prestigious international organizations, first of all, with the United Nations, in key areas of modernity, as well as our country makes a worthy and significant contribution to peace, security and sustainable development efforts. Moreover, speakers underlined the importance of the UN Resolution on Declaration “2021 – the Year of International Peace and Trust” put forward by Turkmenistan.
