Dr. Cheryl Bernard - guest of the Institute
On August 22, 2022, during a visit to Ashgabat, Dr. Cheryl Bernard, an expert in the field of cultural heritage preservation, wife of the director of the Gryphon partners company, former US special envoy for reconciliation in Afghanistan Zalmay Khalilzad, visited the Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan. She got acquainted with the work of the Turkmen National Alma mater of Diplomacy, which trains international-level specialists for further work in the diplomatic service. The head of the Center for Strategic Studies of the Institute, established in accordance with the Decree of the President of Turkmenistan No.2318 dated July 9, 2021, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Shiriev Shiri Akoilievich told the distinguished guest about the ongoing in-depth study of the effective conduct of international cooperation for implementation in practice, as well as the organization of scientific and research and consulting work of the Center. Vice-Rector on academic affairs of the Institute Yusupova Gulshat Geldievna spoke in details about the Bachelor’s program starting from the 2021-2022 academic year on “International Relations”, “International Economics”, “Political Communication and Internet journalism”, the Master’s program on “Digital diplomacy”, “International Public law”, “International Private law”; from the 2022-2023 academic year the Bachelor’s degree on “International Law”, the Master’s program will include the specialties “Oriental Studies”, “Analysis and Strategic Planning”, “Political Communication and internet journalism” and of course, about the School of Young diplomats of the Institute.
Ms. Doctor Cheryl Bernard noted that the clear goals set and the work carried out at the Institute will become a source of great and successful training of qualified specialists, both for the bright future of our country and for international level specialists.
