Children are the flowers of our life.
Every child in the world, regardless of race, culture, gender or age, deserves to be loved, cared for and protected from harm and abuse. Children have the right to spend their childhood free from violence, harm or abuse. This right is preserved in law, from the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child to national laws and policies that affect all children, not just those who are abused and neglected.
International Children's Day is celebrated annually on June 1st to commemorate the rights of children and promote their welfare. The day provides an opportunity for stakeholders, including governments, civil society organizations, and individuals, to reflect on the health challenges affecting children globally and work towards securing their future. As it is known, UNICEF plays a crucial role in promoting children's health globally by implementing various programs aimed at addressing these issues. It is necessary to mention that speaking about the Children’s Day or International Children’s Day that this date is of great importance in the life of society and children. The Importance of Children's Health Children play a vital role in shaping our future; thus ensuring good health in childhood is essential for their physical and mental development. Good health enables them to learn effectively, become productive adults, and make positive contributions to society.
UNICEF is considered an organization that supports all activities undertaken by governments to protect children. UNICEF’s Efforts to Promote Children’s Health UNICEF has been instrumental in promoting child health globally through its mission statement "to protect every child."
What is the role of UNICEF in child welfare?
According to the source that UNICEF works in over 190 countries and territories to save children's lives, to defend their rights, and to help them fulfill their potential, from early childhood through adolescence.
In this regard, our independent state has acceded to a number of important international legal norms, including the World Declaration on ensuring the life, protection and development of children, the UN Convention on the Protection of Children's Rights. Being a member of the Executive Board of the United Nations Children's Fund and the Commission on the Status of Women, Turkmenistan works together to protect the health of children, provide them with high-quality education, and ensure the safety of future generations.
One of the main directions of the state policy of the President is the spiritual and physical healthy development of the younger generation in the conditions of the Revival of a New Era of a Powerful State as well as their upbringing at the world level. This is clearly evidenced by the activities carried out for recreation and strengthening the health of children.
As a result of our esteemed President's desire to make Turkmenistan a country of happy children, care for happy children who are the owners of our bright tomorrow can be felt at every step, at every moment. Caring for offspring is a noble principle of the Turkmen people. In this regard, our Hero Arkadag said: " The happiness of our children is a great asset of our state and the basis for the future development of our society. Our main goal is for the young generation to be talented, capable, morally and physically healthy and live a happy life”
It is necessary to note that there is the Charitable Foundation for Assistance to Children in Need of Guardianship forename Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov. As it is known that The Charity Foundation was established in March 2021. It finances the provision of medical and educational services, as well as covers the costs for proper rest and development of children in need of care.
So, the June program starts with festive celebrations and festivities on the occasion of the International Day for Protection of Children. On June 2, the summer holiday season starts in the children's health resort of Gokdere and traditionally the departure of bus "caravans" with schoolchildren to the camps takes place, which is accompanied by fun performances.
We can proudly say that significant work is being done in our country to equip the children's healthcare system with professionals who meet international requirements in the field of medicines and sanitary products, and to strengthen the material and technical bases of children's healthcare.
