World Radio Day
The 13th of February was declared as World Radio Day by the United Nations Educational, Scientific, and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) at the 36th session in 2011.
Radios are considered to be a window to the world with music, news, and talk shows to keep you informed and entertained. The primary objective of commemorating this day is to raise awareness among the society and media about the significance of radio. This occasion serves as a platform to highlight the value of radio, which continues to be the most effective medium for reaching diverse audiences and adopting to new technological advancements and devices. Radio stands as a powerful medium of mass communication. UNESCO challenges world community to keep this day with collaborative initiatives among various partners, including regional, national, and international broadcasting associations, and media enities. The radio changed the world into more connected place, forever changing the way we share and experience life. Today, we celebrate not just a device but an art, a companion, and a timeless agent that unites the globe-World Radio Day, where waves interconnect us!
