Ashgabat received an international certificate
The year “Epoch of The People With Arkadag” will go down in history as one of the richest years with blessed events in the life of the Turkmen people. On April of the historic year, the number of certificates which are presented to our country by International Organizations increased even more. On April 22, in a regular meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers via the digital system Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov reported on good news from the Permanent Mission of Turkmenistan to the UN Office in Geneva. The head of Foreign Ministry of our country noted that an international certificate was presented to Ashgabat city for its support and contribution to the initiative “Gardens in Cities” by Deputy Secretary-General of the United Nations, Executive Secretary of the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe. This good news is another achievement of our country’s foreign policy, testifying to the international recognition of our country’s efforts to protect the environment and ensure environmental safety.
The State Policy of our country pays special attention to environmental protection measures, conservation of nature and ensuring biodiversity. The nationwide gardening ceremony, which was attended by President Serdar Berdimuhamedov in March this year, was a clear indication of Turkmenistan’s commitment to fulfilling its ecological commitments.
Turkmenistan, along with the United nations, regularly implements programs and projects aimed at achieving sustainable development on Earth. One of the key areas of this cooperation is to ensure a high level of environmental security. In this multifaceted, integrated work, it is especially important to turn urban and rural areas into forest zones. Turkmenistan systematically carries out National Forestry Program. In this regard, by the initiative of our esteemed Arkadag, more than 145 million orchards have been planted in Turkmenistan over the years. This work has ensured the formation of special air zones in our country and contributes to the high level of clean air in the region and the preservation of nature.
As President Serdar Berdimuhamedov emphasized, we will continue to work in this sphere using the latest achievements of science and modern technologies. Today, gardening in Turkmenistan has become a tradition for Turkmen people, contributing to the further development of natural areas. The received international certificate is a testament to the official recognition of the contribution of Ashgabat city to the
large-scale environmental program.
