Arkadag city – the city of youth and the future
One of the three things that makes a man's name live forever is the buildings he builds. The city of Arkadag, a perfect work of art created by our hero Arkadag in the holy Turkmen land, in the ancient Oguz country, with white marble buildings, is a clear proof of this. The city of Arkadag is a wonderful example and a pearl of national architecture. It is special that the city of Arkadag was built in one of the ancient corners of our land, in the place where the glorious history of our ancestors originated. This city was built on the initiative of the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, and its construction was launched on April 10, 2019. With the efforts of the President of Turkmenistan, Serdar Berdimuhamedov, the new city has become one of the largest and most environmentally clean cities in the region. In the first phase of the city, 336 buildings and facilities, including all-inclusive residences, the world's most advanced children's health center, rehabilitation center, hospitals, secondary schools, kindergartens, office buildings, engineering systems and other important facilities put into use. More precisely, 11 public buildings, 25 office buildings, 19 educational institutions, 258 residences, 9 health and sports buildings were built in the first phase of the city. Along with them, the construction of 14 engineering systems and facilities also informs the project's extensive scope. According to information, about 100 experts from Austria, Azerbaijan, Armenia, Germany, Georgia, Kyrgyzstan, China, Qatar, Korea, Uzbekistan, Russia, Turkey and Japan, UN, CIS, OSCE, UN-Habitat, UNESCO and Russian Union of Architects, Cooperation Council of Arab States of the Gulf, Sambo Federation, Union of Engineers and Architects of Turkic States (TURKSOY), Eurasian Patent Organization, Eurasian Economic Cooperation Organization, and about 30 high-level delegations, including diplomatic missions accredited to Turkmenistan attended the opening ceremony of Arkadag city. Heads of delegations, more than 40 businessmen from 20 foreign companies, dozens of journalists from the world's famous media participated in the opening ceremony as well. The participation of numerous guests from nearly 20 countries and 12 prestigious international organizations in this important event in the country's history testifies to the high importance of the city in the international arena. The implementation of this huge urban development project initiated by our Hero-Arkadag is a clear proof of the success of the state policy aimed at comprehensive development of the country, increasing its economic potential, and continuous improvement of the standard of living of the people. In the framework of the important opening ceremony of the city, during the conference held at Ruhyyet Palace with the participation of the Turkmen leader and distinguished foreign guests, Tao Zhang, Director of the UNESCO Institute for Information Technologies in Education, on behalf of his institute, as well as on behalf of the leaders of the Arab League Educational, Cultural and Scientific Organization and international intergovernmental organization «Education Commonwealth» handed over the congratulation letter issued to the Arkadag city on the successful implementation of the Innovative Digital Education System that will bring new Opportunities and Creative Environment for the Young generation and contribute to the Digital economy and Sustainable Development of Turkmenistan. This congratulation letter is the clear evidence that opportunities have been created in Arkadag city for the youth to become a qualified professional. As mentioned in these letters, the city of Arkadag, where innovative digital education systems have been successfully implemented, will create new opportunities and a creative environment for the young generation to receive continuous and high-quality education, and will greatly contribute to the further development of Turkmenistan. Young people have a great place in the modern life structures of the new, «smart» city. Because youth is the foundation of the country's future and the driving force of our development. As a result of the tireless efforts of our esteemed President and our Hero-Arkadag, the large-scale works and the great reforms, including the modern rural cities under construction, first of all consider the happiness of the youth and the bright future of our people. Youth, innovation and beauty! The miracle and unique harmony of these forces that transform human life can be seen in the wonders and modern appearance of the city of Arkadag. With the valuable advice of our Hero-Arkadag, giving great importance to the innovative proposals and abilities of young people in the creation of modern life structures in the city is a clear testimony of the special trust put upon the young generation in the country. The city of Arkadag will become a major scientific, educational, cultural and international center of our region. In its construction, advanced methods of architecture and urban planning, the norms of the "smart" urban concept, «green» technologies are actively used. This caused consideration of the issue of legal consolidation of Arkadag city's importance in the legislation of Turkmenistan. In this regard, taking into account the recommendations of our esteemed President, the draft Law of Turkmenistan «On the city of Arkadag» was developed, and with the approval of the President of Turkmenistan, it came into force on March 24 of this year. On June 16 of this year, the second stage of the construction of Arkadag city was launched. The two-story residential complex of the city, a park, zones of modern means related to the modern communication system, centers of the electronic document circulation system, which implements the software for submitting the statistical report of the traffic through the electronic system, will be built in the second stage of Arkafag city. According to the relevant Decision of the President of Turkmenistan, Serdar Berdimuhamedov, the second stage of construction of Arkadag will be implemented in 2023-2026.
