On June 18, 2025, a meeting was held at the Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan with a delegation from Kent State University (USA) headed by Vice President Marcello Fantoni.
The purpose of the meeting was to discuss future steps for implementing joint educational programs within the framework of the Memorandum of Understanding previously signed between the Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan and Kent State University. In addition, the parties discussed sharing advanced experience in the development of university curricula that meet international standards.
Founded in 1910, Kent State University is one of the prominent public educational institutions in the United States, known for its innovative approaches in the fields of education, business, and technology. It is worth noting that Kent State University has signed three Memorandum of Understanding with higher educational institutions of Turkmenistan: the International University for the Humanities and Development, the Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, and the Turkmen State Institute of Architecture and Construction. These agreements aim to expand the range of academic programs, promote the creation of joint educational and research projects, and strengthen cultural ties between the two countries.
After the meeting, a tour of the institute was organized for the guests. They were introduced to the Museum of the History of Turkmen Diplomacy, the UNESCO Club «Culture of Peace», the Training Studio of the Institute and the White Yurta (Ak oy), as well as the German and Turkish language libraries operating within the institute. The tour left a good impression on the guests.
The meeting became an important step in the development of cooperation between the National School of Turkmen diplomacy and Kent State University, as well as in deepening intercultural ties. This event contributes to the implementation of Turkmenistan’s strategic goals aimed at integrating national universities into the international educational space and establishing strong partnerships with leading universities around the world.
