3.10.2024, Important negotiations aimed at strengthening cooperation between the universities of the USA and Turkmenistan were held within the framework of the visit of the delegation of the Ministry of Education of Turkmenistan to Kent State University. At the meeting with the Vice President Marcello Fantoni, several key areas of cooperation development were discussed in detail.
In particular, a draft roadmap and mechanisms for cooperation between Kent State University and universities of Turkmenistan were discussed. In particular, an agreement was reached to begin a work on launching dual programmes, as well as joint education programmes on the basis of the International University for the Humanities and Development, which will form the foundation for the further establishments of a branch of Kent State University.
During the negotiations, the possibilities of using the potential of such US programmes as SUSI, Fulbright, IVLP and others were also discussed.
During the visit, the delegation visited the Design Faculty, where work in the direction of the fashion industry was presented. The representatives of the faculty told about modern methods and approaches used to develop and create innovative solutions in the field of fashion and design. This area of cooperation is important for training specialists meeting the requirements of the international market.
At the Construction and Architecture Faculty, the delegation was provided with information on the latest achievements in the field of artificial intelligence used in architectural solutions, in the development of smart cities and the use of modern materials. A particular attention was paid to the design of healthcare facilities, which have become an important part of the discussions on the possibilities of cooperation in this area. The issue of cooperation with the Turkmen State Institute of Architecture and Civil Engineering was also discussed. The parties agreed to organize a series of webinars to exchange experience and identify the most promising areas for cooperation.
The last point of the visit was the Business Faculty, where modern approaches to training specialists in finance, marketing, trade and management were discussed. The delegation got acquainted with the latest educational technologies, such as 360-degree lecture halls and lecture recording systems, which can significantly improve the quality of the educational process. An important part of the discussions was the training of specialists capable of working effectively in a modern business environment.
Negotiations with the representatives of Kent State University, as well as the visits to the key faculties, demonstrated a high potential for expanding cooperation in the field of education and science. In the near future, the parties intend to continue discussing the details of the implementation of the roadmap, which will strengthen academic and scientific ties between the universities of Turkmenistan and the United States of America.
