A SIGNIFICANT CONFERENCE
Each day of the ‘International Year of Peace and Trust’ is notable for historical events thanks to the concern of the President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov and the National Leader of the Turkmen people Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov. Our Motherland has adopted the doctrine of permanent neutrality as its main guideline and has achieved great success in its domestic and foreign policy owing to implementing large-scale transformations.
Turkmenistan is the first country to legally consolidate its permanent neutrality. At a time of increasing political complexity in the world, the proposals to open the UN Regional Centre for Preventive Diplomacy for Central Asia (UNRCCA) in Ashgabat and to establish a peacemaking centre have found warm support on the international arena. Besides, the Resolution ‘Additional information on the modalities of the Third UN Conference on Landlocked Developing Countries’ was adopted at the 63rd plenary meeting of the 79th session of the UN General Assembly on April 11 this year.
The holding of such an important forum in Turkmenistan testifies to the high appreciation of the international initiatives put forward by our beloved Motherland for peace loving peoples and strengthening mutual trust between nations.
